The Wood Fiber Insulation Wedge under Window Sills from Steico is the ideal solution for insulation and sealing beneath window sills in both interior and exterior applications. Made of hydrophobic wood fiber without a functional membrane, this insulation wedge is plasterable and ensures a reliable slope formation – even under heavy stone or granite window sills.
Installation is quick and secure using Steico multi fill joint sealant, and the connection areas can be effectively sealed with Steico Tape black 70 or 140. Thanks to its plasterable fleece layer, the wedge is highly resistant to aging and integrates seamlessly into the external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS).
This wedge helps reduce thermal bridges and, according to building physics standards, forms the second water-bearing level in solid mineral construction. Additionally, it significantly improves the structural stability of ETICS systems.
With a µ-value of 3, bulk density of approx. 265 kg/m³, and a thermal resistance of 0.047 m²K/W, the wood fiber wedge delivers excellent technical performance. It is suitable for aluminum, stone, or granite window sills. The wedge has a fixed slope of 5°, and is available in various reveal depths: 140 mm, 200 mm, 260 mm, and 360 mm – each with specific wedge heights. Standard length is 1.35 meters.
