The Steico multi membra 5 vapor control layer is a high-performance, three-layer membrane designed for internal use in modern timber constructions. It functions as both a vapor barrier and an airtightness layer, ensuring reliable protection for roofs, walls, and ceilings. Especially in eco-friendly projects, it pairs perfectly with natural insulation materials like Steicozell or Steicoflex.
Thanks to its multi-layered structure, the membrane is exceptionally tear-resistant while maintaining the flexibility needed for easy installation—even in complex geometries. With a diffusion-equivalent air layer thickness (sd-value) of 5 m, it effectively controls indoor moisture levels without compromising breathability.
One of its standout features is the compatibility with blow-in insulation systems. In fact, it offers ideal conditions for creating an airtight layer, which is crucial for thermal performance and comfort. You can install it on both the ridge and valley sides of a roof, provided there’s a sufficient over-insulation with Steico wood fiber underlay boards.
The membrane is suitable for interior applications only and supports installation in a variety of layouts. For maximum durability and airtightness, we recommend securing it with Steico hardboard strips.
